January 5, 2023 Update

As I sit here to write an update I have a prayer request to present to you. Please pray for Brad’s current cold. He’s got a headache, sinus pressure, drainage, low grade fever. Same stuff my children and I had a week before. It may seem like nothing but I think this is harder on Brad than most healthier people.

Yesterday Brad went to an Immunologist/allergy specialist and had to do a breath test. He has improved by 10% y’all! In 3 months!! That’s big for Brad! He’s noticed increased energy, strength coming back, a good appetite. πŸ˜‰ His Dr was very very happy with this. He’s (Dr.) treating another middle aged man who was sick with “The Stuff” about a year before Brad. Not nearly as sick and way less time in the hospital. He too, is on disability, oxygen support, etc. The great thing is he is improving each time the Dr. sees him!! So what we’re finding out is that Brad’s healing progress is going to take time but his lungs will heal. (Nurse Carol from the ICU had told Brad that it would take 3 days of healing for every one day he spent in the ICU. That’s roughly 540 days or a year in a half!) For sure in about 2 Years we’ll know a little more where Brad is with his lungs. (Maybe πŸ˜‰)

Brad also had an Echocardiogram done today. His heart (IMO) looked well. It was producing good exchanges, electricity, and pumped nicely. We’ll know more in about 3 days. Please keep that in prayer if you think of it. πŸ’œ

Brad is going to have more testing done for his heart to make sure they (Dr.’s) can rule out anything serious going on with his heart. His heart rate still goes high and he takes meds for that right now. I’m hoping this is due to his fibrosis and nothing else. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

A year ago today I made an update on Caring Bridge. Here’s an excerpt:

“Brad's BP dropped in the night and was given more meds to support him. They had to raise his FIO2 to 65%. His PEEP remains at 14. He's stable. Praise the Lord. “

“Brad's siblings got on their social media and called up a the next few days for praying and fasting for Brad. We need his FIO2 to come down to 40% and his peep needs to be at 10. He also needs to oxygenate around 97%. All this so that he can come off the ventilator and have a tracheotomy possibly.”

“You are all a miracle. A miracle of God's people coming together to seek His face, humbly  on behalf of His servant, Brad, & for us. The miracle we're all looking for is complete healing for Brad. However, when this many people (1,000's of you) are praying, encouraging, & supporting the way that you are, that's a miracle too.

I don't know the full outcome for each day. I can only take it day by day. I trust the Lord for His wisdom and guidance through all of this. Thank you for continuing to stand with us“

Crazy that he was on a ventilator still needing a miracle to come off 1 Year ago today! Look at what the Lord has done! Haha! Just look! Can’t you see it? He’s just wanting us to reach out and trust Him!

Pray for my children and I to be successful with our homeschool.

Pray for me to focus on God’s presence and promise. I do struggle with anxiety and thought life. I’ve suffered through lots of traumas. I believe God is healing and delivering me off it all!

One thing I know for sure: don’t worry about tomorrow. It’s in God’s hands. He takes good care of us.

A Time To Reveal

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die;…” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Flashes of the past 11 months of life fly by in my mind as I weep over my husband with gratefulness. He asks me, “Are you okay?” Tearfully looking at him I say, “Yes.” “Well what brought all this on?”, he asks. “The Holy Spirit,” I reply. I just weep for about 1/2 hour under the heavy presence of the Lord acknowledging His awesome miracle working power in our lives. (I started typing this up in August of this year.)  At that moment I was realizing just how very very fortunate we both were that Brad was alive and well. I wanted him to feel how humbled I was and how grateful I am to God. So much to the point that I began to weep under the weightiness of everything that has happened. To write this blog and keep going there will be poetic moments and pauses to bunny trail back to memories of pain, beauty, observing the Holy Majesty of our ...

Prayer Request for Wholeness of Healing

I was working on another update but this seemed to be a little more important. Brad had a CT scan done recently and it showed that he has continued pulmonary fibrosis. Before I go any further... Let's remember that Brad was on his death bed when God raised him up out of it. He now walks on his own, pretty fast I might add. He goes out to his workshop and works on things. Manages our fires in the wood stove. Goes up the stairs to go to bed. He is still on oxygen however it's not much. We were given a treadmill recently and he is walking on that every other day and doing a full mile. Brad is determined and we don't see this as a means to give up.  As a reminder to each of us as a believer let's think upon these scriptures to build us up in our faith. Isaiah 11:3-4 According to Ephesians 2:5-7 we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places, and we take the authority we have to exercise in the Name of JESUS to pray in Faith believing! see also - Ephesians 6:10-18  Let...
